For The Boys Brunch (Pool Edition) - Bowl’d Restaurant - 29th September
Sunday Funday was the name of the game at the recent For The Boys Brunch held at the popular restaurant, Bowl’d in Morningside Sandton. The pool edition included performances from drag artist BabaGanoosh and the soundtrack was provided by Abby Nurock, Essential Groove and DJ Keaparang. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful harvest tables which was a selection of croissants, freshly cut fruit, homemade muesli and more. The canapé harvest table had more substantial bites such as prawn & chorizo skewers, chicken and corn salads, ostrich meatballs and more delicious snacks.
Guests were lucky enough to be the first to taste Durbanville Hills Sparkling Rosé. A delicious blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon with a dazzling coral pink colour and notes of strawberries, citrus, Turkish delight and candy floss.
Brunch-goers all walked away with a gift hamper from sexual health campaign We The Brave and Bro vouchers to the value of R75 courtesy of Sorbet Man Hyde Park.
For The Boys Brunch (Pride Edition) - Ferguson’s 5th - 29th June
The trendy rooftop haunt Ferguson’s 5th in Illovo was the home for the Pride Edition of For The Boys Brunch. Mother Nature played her part by providing the winter sun on a beautiful day. Guests included Joburg’s sickening drag queens, a colourful array of LGBTQ+ people and their friends. The soundtrack for the day kicked off with Justin Miller, then 94.7’s Ricky taking over the decks and ending off with Essential Groove.
Being World Pride Day, guests brought an overwhelming amount of donations that would assist the only LGBTQ+ shelter in Africa, The Pride Shelter. Brunch-ers were welcomed with choice of Patrónic or the signature Martini mimosa. The delicious harvest table was adorned with a continental breakfast including oysters, honey phyllo triangles, parma ham and melon and more. Attendees also had a wide selection to order from for brunch from the crumpet stack with maple syrup to scrambled egg with smoked salmon and chives on a toasted English muffin, and everything in between.
The brunch brought together everyone in the name of love. Love wins always
For The Boys Brunch - Mesh Club - 4th May
Hosted at the private members only Mesh Club in the heart of Rosebank, guests enjoyed a selection of fantastic food and delicious cocktails.The DJ Lineup included Justin Miller, Abby Nurock and international DJ from London; Playbutton808. And no brunch is complete without mimosas, which there was plenty of.
Each brunch-er received a welcome mimosa courtesy of sponsor Martini from their sparkling range of Asti, Rosé & Prosecco. The scrumptious brunch menu included: Best both worlds Breakfast which was avocado, sourdough & bacon, poached egg, hollandaise sauce, sourdough. other options included Okonomiyaki (Japanese omelet), Fresh oysters with preserve lime salsa, Yakitori chicken wings, Shakshuka which is egg, smoke bacon, spring onion and shitake mushroom. And for the carnivorous palette there was pork ribs & chipotle sauce and chicken thigh & turnip salad.
